Dinowalrus

Brooklyn’s drum n’ drone trio, Dinowalrus, just premiered their latest video for BEAD on Stereogum. A perfect compliment for the song’s mash of Tangerine Dream’s arpeggiator studies and Contortions-like no-wave skronk (right down to the clarinet solo), the video is psychedelic and dizzying. Preparing for the January release, “%” the band has been catching attention from ABC’s Amplified, the Village Voice and many others.

Listen to the Mae Shi remix of “Nuke Duke ‘Em” below!

Divider imageCONTEST: Win A Ninja Tune Prize Package

It was a cold December evening in San Francisco, but Geo, Caroline & Nate were still hard at work in the Terrorbird office when a terrible sound came from the chimney.

Geo merely turned up the copy of A Trick of the Tail he was listening to, and Nate just shrugged, but Caroline, emboldened by both the holiday spirit and the gallon of coffee coursing through her veins approached the hearth.

“S-s-santa?” she whispered up the dark shaft. There was no answer, so she pulled a lighter from her pocket and flicked it on… only to find herself face to face with a ninja!

Startled, she staggered backwards as the ninja came crashing down in a pile of logs and ash. By the time the soot settled, the ninja had mysteriously disappeared, but his giant parcel remained.

The three startled Terrorbirders rushed forth to see what their visitor left behind. Attached they found a note “PLEASE SPREAD THE HOLIDAY CHEER. LOVE, NINJA TUNE (XOXOXO).”

Divider imageCONTEST: Win Tickets To See The Grouch On West Coast Tour

The Grouch

This winter The Grouch returns with his annual How the Grouch Stole Christmas Tour. After the overwhelming success of last year’s outing, The Grouch raised the bar by enlisting a handful of the West Coast’s most promising talents.

Stacked with goodies and en route to the next city, the tour vehicle may “lose” a few gifts, only to be found by following The Grouch on Twitter (@therealgrouch). In addition, each event will hold a Toys for Tots drive and participants will receive a free gift for bringing a new toy to be donated.

This year, the buzz-worthy and undeniably dope duo of Fashawn & Exile will kick in the door with the opening duties. Fans will then be treated to a verbal assault delivered by none other than the Bay Area’s own charismatic prince, Mistah F.A.B. The Grouch, assisted by DJ Fresh, will close the evening, making sure that every heart, mind, and ear in the building has been stolen!

In conjunction with the tour, The Grouch will be releasing a new project TOMORROW, entitled Three Eyes Off The Time, produced entirely by his tour DJ, DJ Fresh. It will be available on tour or here.

Divider image@Bassnectar and @NosajThing Nominated As Electronic Artist of the Year By @URBMag

Bassnectar & Nosaj Thing have been nominated as Electronic Artist of the Year by URB.com. In addition to relentless tour schedules, both artists released LPs this year. After appearing on bills at both Lollapalooza and Burning Man, Bassnectar dropped Cozza Frenzy in October. Meanwhile Nosaj Thing debuted Drift in June, much to the chagrin of the Los Angeles Fire Marshall, who twice shut down his release party at Low End Theory (who were also nominated by URB.com as Best Promoter.)
