Emerson Snowe is the moniker of twenty four year old artist Jazz Di Prima who has been expressing and evolving his emotions through music since being a teenager. He’s also seen great success as a founding member of The Creases where he wrote and produced a number of songs from their debut album whilst working extensively on his artist paintings that have sold all over the world. After years of song writing he reached a point where expression met explosion and his own personal sound was born.
Emerson Snowe draws heavily on influences from Daniel Johnston, Patti Smith and Ariel Pink yet brings about a style that would be reminiscent of the stylings of Mac DeMarco meets the lyrical The Cure’s Robert Smith. Australia’s own Liberation Records and Mushroom Publishing recognized this early by joining with Emerson Snowe to further enhance the project. With only three songs released predominantly premiered through Beats Radio and regular spins on BBC1 he’s been able to tour with the likes of Ariel Pink, GUM and King Krule. A stand out live moment was performing alongside King Krule and being personally requested by Archy to perform the rest of the tour.
Momentum was gained off the back of single ‘Sunlight’ when he was asked to perform at Australia’s BigSound conference where he was awarded the Levi Prize for 2018 positioning him with peers Rolling Blackouts CF, Hatchie, Stella Donnelly and more. Off the back of this performance he was also named as The Great Escapes First Fifty’s announcement and invited to perform at their launch in London.
After almost losing his voice touring around the UK Emerson Snowe produced one of the most stirring performances of the The Great Escape launch parties which earned him the badge of one of Australia's most exciting live performers. It also led to him being invited to perform at SXSW 2019 and named as one of NME’s Top 100 Artists To Watch For 2019.
